A spate of recalls involving children’s clothing has certainly raised our eyebrows. The recalls were listed on the Consumer Product Safety Council’s Recall website. Many of the items were recalled because they pose a danger of catching on fire, which is not something that should happen, given government standards already in place.

Joules USA Children’s Pajamas & Robes
Issued on March 5, this most recent recall relates to about 12,000 pajamas and robes sold in the United States and Canada between November 2017 and December 2019. The garments did not meet the federal standards regarding flammability, so parents should immediately keep them away from their children and seek a refund from Joules.
Just Blanks Children’s Nightgowns
Just Blanks sold around 450 children’s nightgowns which did not meet the federal flammability standards. The nightgowns are made of 92% cotton and 8% spandex. They were sold from August 2019 to December 2019 in children’s boutiques nationwide.
If you purchased one of these nightgowns, return it immediately.
K-Apparel Children’s Lounge Pants
These 100% cotton lounge pants were recalled in late January 2020. They had been sold online at amazon.com from October 2018 to September 2019. About 2,200 units were sold entirely.
These lounge pants also pose a burn hazard to children. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported, but the pants do not meet the federal flammability standards. K-Apparel, located in California, is offering a refund to consumers.
Ragdoll & Rockets Children Loungewear
Last year saw a large recall of over 14,000 units of loungewear sold by Ragdoll & Rockets. These items also failed to meet the federal flammability standards. They are 100% micro polyester fleece sleepwear which were sold at children’s boutiques around the country from May 2018 to May 2019. They were also sold online at the company’s website. The company is offering a refund.
